This unit was renovated with a focus on minimizing waste,
while preserving the original structural elements from its initial construction.

Wherever possible, existing pillars, partial walls, and wooden fittings were reused.
At the same time, improvements were made to enhance livability—
such as expanding the previously cramped wet area and converting the old storage alcove into a modern closet—
all while keeping overall renovation costs under control.

In recent years, many of Takechi Sangyo’s tenants have been international residents.
With a consistent demand for Japanese-style interiors among foreign renters,
this renovation was designed to meet those needs while maintaining sustainability and comfort.
